Over recent years, numerous attempts have been made to utilise powder bed fusion (PBF) technology for the production of multi-material components. However, concerns have arised regarding its feasibility due to the limited reusability of powders, a crucial factor for sustainable economic viability. Laser metal deposition (LMD) emerges as a promising alternative. By integrating multiple powder feeders and intelligent powder line controllers, LMD efficiently produces multi-material components with minimal powder wastage.
